A Look at Connecticut Slavery Personified My Lyon-Green-Merritt-Ancestors Teresa Vega has bee researching her family history/for almost 20 years. She begam in 2010 using a combination of traditional genealogy and genetic genealogy. Ms. Vega has been able to trace several of her maternal mixed-race lines to colonial New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Virginia. She holds Bachelor's Degrees in anthropology and Asian Studies from Bowdoin College.
